Learning the ins and outs of the construction industry is no easy feat. Fortunately Neumann Brothers’ newest Project Coordinator, Amy Kapler, brought nearly 17 years’ experience with her when she joined the company.
Amy started in accounts payable for a home builder in 2000 and eventually worked her way to the commercial side as a Project Coordinator, handling everything from submittals and RFI’s to subcontracts and insurance. Her past experience and her eagerness to take on new challenges have made her a welcome addition the NBI team.
“You can’t miss Neumann’s work in the Des Moines community – they are responsible for so much of downtown, and the tenure of the employees here speaks volumes of the culture. I was drawn in!” said Amy.
Amy started in late August and immediately got to work assisting Veteran Project Manager, Kevin Clemens with the Microsoft Data Center project in West Des Moines. “The Microsoft project is both challenging and interesting, having Amy on board has already been a huge help!” said Kevin. “She’s been quick to learn how we do things [at Neumann] and her organizational efforts have allowed me to focus on the project as a whole while the daily tasks, the submittals and logs and requests for information are covered.”
Commercial construction projects vary widely – industrial warehouses, tenant improvements, historic restorations, new builds, parking garages – you name it, you can find it in this industry. “Knowing the projects that Neumann has completed in the past has made me look forward to what I can be a part of here in the future, every project is different so there will always be something new to learn and new challenges to tackle.”
In her first few months here she’s already had a hand in the data center, a tenant improvement, a restaurant addition and a major demolition – we think we made a pretty good match! Please join us in welcoming Amy to the Neumann team!
