On Tuesday, April 11, Project Manager / Shareholder Matt Davis formally graduated from the Ankeny Leadership Institute.
The class of 2017 is comprised of 13 up and coming leaders in the Ankeny area from a variety of industries and professions. Over the last nine months, they’ve joined forces to hone their leadership and networking skills while providing a service for the betterment of the Ankeny community.
Each year the Ankeny Leadership Institute class is tasked with devising and executing a project. This project is a way to give back to the community through a special event, community service project and/or a fundraiser. The class of 2017 chose to develop a project in honor of retired and fallen Ankeny police officers. They worked with local businesses to design and create two monument boards with plaques which will be installed in the public vestibule at the new Ankeny police station.
The goal of the Ankeny Leadership Institute is to inspire local leaders to better themselves and their community in a manner in which they must test their abilities both individually and collectively. “We worked diligently as a team to make this project a success,” said Matt, “we had to identify each individual’s strengths so that, as a class, we could complete everything from project design, fabrication and installation to fund raising and event planning.”
Dedication of the monument boards is set to take place May 11th. Matt shared that “The whole process was a great way to network and learn from others outside of the construction industry. The Ankeny Leadership Institute really opened up new relationships and opportunities within the community.”
Matt is the second Neumann graduate of the Ankeny Leadership Institute. In 2016, Project Manager / Shareholder Josh Braby also completed the nine month course.
Congratulations, Matt Davis!
