Neumann Brothers, Inc. shows commitment to safety during Safe + Sound Week

Monday, June 12, 2017

DES MOINES, Iowa (June 12, 2017) – Neumann Brothers, Inc. is participating in Safe + Sound Week, June 12-18, 2017.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, more than four million workers suffer from serious job-related injuries or illnesses each year, and more than 4,000 Americans die from work-related incidents annually. Neumann Brothers, Inc. has made safety a priority so that all of its workers return home to their families and loved ones safe and sound every day.

Safe + Sound Week is a nationwide effort  to raise awareness and understanding of the value of safety and health programs that include management leadership, worker participation, and a systematic approach to finding and fixing hazards in workplaces. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the National Safety Council (NSC), the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) co-sponsor the weeklong campaign.

“A company's most important asset is its people, so keeping them safe and healthy should be the highest priority,” said NSC President and CEO Deborah A.P. Hersman. “NSC is proud to be a co-sponsor of Safe + Sound Week to help organizations build strong safety and health programs which also protect their bottom line—a win-win for employees and employers.”

John Neumann, VP Risk Management and Alec Schaufenbuel, Assistant Safety Director will hold several activities on jobsites during Safe + Sound Week designed to raise awareness of hazards and identify ways to keep the workplace safe.

“Our goal is to send everyone home safe at the end of the day. To do that – jobsite safety must be a priority,” Neumann said.
