DES MOINES, Iowa – Neumann Brothers, Inc. is in the final stages of completing tenant build-out work for William Penn University College for Working Adults' new location in Clive. The campus will officially open on July 15th for the start of classes. This design-build project began in April and included renovations of the existing building’s 30,000 square foot second floor to facilitate the needs for the college’s adult classes and staff operations.
This new facility gives William Penn University College for Working Adults enough room for their current enrollment needs and room for expansion. Neumann Brothers' renovation projects included 12 new classrooms, a library, offices and open office areas, and a copy and print room. Neumann Brothers also constructed a new stair tower to allow second floor access to the building from the east parking lot and transformed the existing garage roof into a rooftop patio and garden. The Neumann Brothers' scope also included the data cabling for the project.
“It’s fun to see projects come together in a quick time frame,” said Project Manager Mark Thompson. “We had good subcontractors who worked together to achieve the main goal and were responsive and attentive to the project.”
This new location helps to meet William Penn University College for Working Adults' vision for the future by providing students and staff an efficient space that they can utilize long term. With the new user-friendly facilities they are hoping to bring more adult students to campus.
