DES MOINES, Iowa – Neumann Brothers, Inc. has been selected to construct the $12 million Merle Hay Mall expansion which includes the construction of Flix Brewhouse. The project also includes new streetscaping along Douglas Avenue and a new entrance.
The Flix Brewhouse concept will be the first of its kind in Iowa with a number of other locations planned in the Midwest. The Des Moines Flix Brewhouse will feature eight auditoriums equipped with parabolic screens, state-of-the-industry digital audio and video, extra wide and super comfortable seats, and the newest immersive 3D sound experience. Viewers will enjoy some of the best available technology in the cinema industry while enjoying unobtrusive in-theatre service from a complete cooked-to-order menu and a large selection of soft drinks and signature brews.
“We have a great project team put together to run this complex and complicated project”, said Josh Braby, Project Manager. “This is a fast track, lean delivery method type of project that will be great for Neumann Brothers, Inc. and the Des Moines area community. We’re excited to be a part of such a unique project and look forward to the first show.”
The fast track timeline and extensive scope of work provide a challenge for Neumann Brothers but the project will be completed on time by the end of 2014.
