DES MOINES, Iowa – Neumann Brothers is the general contractor for WORKSAFE’s 100th project. WORKSAFE is a first-in-the-nation safety program designed to identify jobsite hazards before work begins in order to create safer work environments. The program was launched in 2012 as a partnership between the Iowa Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Master Builders of Iowa (MBI).
Neumann Brothers has been working on the 100th project along with the fire recovery stabilization and replacement of the exterior windows on two of EMC Insurance Companies buildings that were damaged by the Younkers Building fire in March. Neumann has completed other work at EMC as part of the fire recovery including roof replacement and water damage sustained from the fire.
“This project has required extensive coordination due to the multiple components of damage and restoration work that was required from the fire damage,” said Project Manager Mark Thompson. “Our team of tradespeople along with great subcontractor support has helped to make a very safe and efficient project.”
An event commemorating the WORKSAFE milestone will take place Friday, October 10th at 8 a.m., at the EMC Insurance Companies headquarters at 717 Mulberry Street.
