Project Description:

This spacious and attractive two-story building with open lobby serves as the campus Welcome Center for Grinnell College, and provides space for recruiting, office, and group gatherings. It is named for long-time Grinnell benefactor John Chrystal.

The exterior of the 30,300-square- foot building features Anamosa stone with clerestory and clad windows. The sloped roof uses an attractive standing seam in conjunction with traditional membrane finishes. The well-appointed interior of the center also uses Anamosa stone, as well as limestone flooring and stair treads, and  tongue and groove cedar ceilings and soffits.
