Project Description

This project is a rehabilitation of an existing 1905 administrative office building and 1893 warehouse building with a new link structure connecting the two existing buildings. The new link structure provides a circulation by a new elevator to the two existing buildings and provides display space for the museum. The area of the project totals 16,100 square feet. The original buildings were part of the Spaulding Manufacturing Company that first manufactured horse drawn carriages and then automobiles until about World War I. The complex will become the home of the Spaulding Center for Transportation, a museum and education center focusing on modes of transportation from early travel to cutting edge future technology in transportation.
