Project Description

Neumann Brothers, Inc. completed the interior demolition and renovation of the space located on Court Avenue in downtown Des Moines. Now home to Goldfinch – the completed project is light, fresh, modern and compliments the farm to table style dining experience the Owner envisioned.

New walls were framed and the existing concrete ceiling was painted white. Custom, innovative “Cypress” wood ceiling clouds were hung from duct hangers to allow the ceiling to be easily adjusted or removed. Whitewashed cypress wood wall paneling and custom wood divider walls with oversized pocket doors tie the space together and, when needed, easily separate the private dining space from the main restaurant.

Floating glass shelves, Corian counter tops and wood wall paneling create a relaxing bar area. Custom booths and banquette couches, fabricated by Neumann carpenters, provide beautiful, comfortable indoor seating while custom cedar fencing, new awnings and bistro style lighting brighten up the outdoor patio.
