Project Description

This spacious and attractive two-story building with open lobby serves as the campus welcome center and Registrar's office for Grinnell College, and provides space for recruiting, office, and group gatherings. It is named for long-time Grinnell benefactor John Chrystal.

The exterior of the 30,300 square foot building features Anamosa stone with clerestory and clad windows. The sloped roof uses an attractive standing seam in conjunction with traditional membrane finishes. The well-appointed interior of the center also uses Anamosa stone, as well as limestone flooring and stair treads, and tongue and groove cedar ceilings and soffits.
