Neumann Brothers was Construction Manager for the Waukee Innovation and Learning Center (WILC) and self-performed both rough & trim carpentry, and foundations.
The 2-story, 54,000 SF building sits on a large wooded site with planned native grass features. The building has a modern, industrial feel and houses classrooms, laboratories and collaborative spaces for the Waukee Aspiring Professional Experience (APEX) program.
The facility uses chilled water, ERV systems as well as LED lighting and occupancy sensors to conserve energy.
Features include a radio and television studio, woodwork and metal spaces, advanced manufacturing area, finance and insurance classrooms and room for future expansion.
