Work Scope
Our preconstruction team worked closely with Botanical leadership, community leaders, city leaders, design professions and the public to create a plan, schedule and budget to transform underutilized green space into a vibrant, community-minded public treasure. After a nine month long process, our team came up with eight projects that will be phased over the next ten years including a recently completed fountain with tree-lined courtyard, wetlands garden, and a native Iowa sand prairie featuring a sculpture by world-renowned artist Juanjo Novella. Neumann is currently part of an $8 million HVAC upgrade to the existing conservatory and administrative offices.
Future projects include a major site grading and utility infrastructure project, tree house with walkways built-in to the tree canopy, river front café, workshop/maintenance building, learning outpost with amphitheater, natural playscapes, and a renewed river walk with docks and pavilions along the Des Moines river. All projects keep sustainability in mind and every effort is taken to create as little impact on the environment as possible including utilizing green roofs, geothermal heating, water reducing fixture, and eco-friendly retention of storm water run-off.
