Employee Spotlight: Michael Fear
Neumann is excited to announce the newest addition to our team, Michael Fear! Michael is a talented Project Engineer with an outstanding education and construction experience. While attending Iowa State’s School of Engineering, Michael held two internships and received hands-on training on multiple job sites. In spring of 2018, he graduated from ISU with a degree in Construction Engineering and Business minor and began full-time employment in the construction industry.
Since Michael was young, he has always been interested in projects – one of his most memorable was working with his carpenter grandfather on woodworking cabinets. Naturally drawn towards construction and engineering, he decided to pursue engineering and business to advance his education further.
For the last 2.5 years, Michael has worked as a Project Engineer in the construction industry. Now, he is interested in focusing on his home state of Iowa. Growing up in West Des Moines, he likes how the Neumann team emphasizes the local Des Moines and Central Iowa markets and the history Neumann has in our communities.
Michael is excited to bring his experience to the Neumann team. Specifically, his 2 ½ years’ experience using construction management software and how scheduling and workflows work together on larger commercial projects. He is also looking forward to building relationships with his peers and working together as a team. Michael’s current career goal is to be part of a landmark project in Des Moines, something that everyone from the area recognizes, like the skyline or the Capitol building.
In his free time, Michael enjoys spending time with his friend group and family members and watching ISU sports. He also is a talented acrylic painter and woodworker! Last summer, he created custom cutting boards with his laser cutter for a major local supermarket! And his most recent completed woodworking project is a barn door dog kennel.
Neumann is proud to have Michael on our team, and we are looking forward to accomplishing great things together. Welcome, Michael!
