Neumann Brothers was pleased to have Carlos Jimenez join our internship program this summer! Carlos is starting his second year at Iowa State University and is pursuing a degree in Construction Engineering. Born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa, Carlos enjoys spending time outdoors, being active with his two dogs, and is a talented photographer.
Carlos discovered Neumann’s internship opportunities last fall during Iowa State’s virtual career fair. Before the career fair, he had an opportunity to tour the Sports Performance Center project, which was under construction at the time by Neumann. Growing up, his father worked in construction, and a family friend was a construction engineer, so Carlos was both familiar with and interested in the construction industry.
When asked about his favorite part of interning with Neumann, Carlos shares: “The variety! Every day is different and brings with it the progression of projects. I enjoyed working on the 3750 on Grand project and learning the ins-and-outs of what goes into a project.” Carlos is also very creative and hands-on, which are excellent skills to have in the industry. “Being able to work with the Owners, be hands-on, and problem-solve is necessary to achieve a successful finished product.”
Neumann is proud of Carlos’ achievements this summer during his first internship. He is very talented, and we are looking forward to seeing what he accomplishes during his education and beyond!
