Pierce Gelhaus has been a Neumann Brothers intern and co-op for the past two years, and we are happy to share that this summer, Pierce returned to our team once again! Pierce is a native Iowan from Forest City. He is starting his final year at Iowa State University with a degree in Construction Engineering with a building emphasis.
“Responsibility-wise,” Pierce says, “I have never been looked as ‘just an intern’ – but rather a respected employee.” Part of Peirce’s responsibilities includes coordinating with subcontractors, tracking schedules, writing RFI’s, bidding plans, and managing change orders and field reports. This summer, his focus was primarily centered on Farm Bureau to work with Superintendent Scott Richeal and Project Manager Mark Thompson.
“Everybody is kind,” Pierce states when talking about what he likes most about working at Neumann. “It is a friendly environment. You do not come to work like it is only a job; it is more than that.” We could not agree more!
Mark Thompson, shareholder and project manager, shares; “It has been enjoyable working with Pierce this summer. The value and experience he brings from his other co-op and internships with Neumann have served him well as he expands his project management roles. Pierce has a great construction mind and background!”
We are excited to announce that Pierce will trade in his Neumann Project Intern title and upgrade to Neumann Project Engineer and join our team full-time after his graduation in May 2021! We are incredibly proud of his growth and accomplishments over the last few years.
