Work Scope

Neumann was first hired by the Des Moines Community Playhouse (DMCP) as a preconstruction consultant. We provided budgeting and pre-planning services for the building’s master plan. The preconstruction phase included design, coordination, scheduling, and budgeting for a new lobby addition, complete theatre renovation, all new HVAC systems, an exterior facade upgrade, children’s theatre renovation, and a new classroom addition.The project also evaluated solutions for existing concrete floor settlement issues, hazardous material abatement and means of construction that would allow the facility to remain open at all times.

The project was broken into multiple phases allowing for each phase to be completed as an independent project over a 10 year span. Neumann completed numerous phases of the master plan including the lobby addition, multipurpose expansion, facade upgrades, and is currently completing the East Theater Addition. The East Theater Addition is the final phase of the master plan which includes a theater, offices, and classrooms.
