Work Scope

Flix Brewhouse is a 60,000 SF interior remodel complete with an eight screen movie theatre, full service kitchen, restaurant, and brewery. The project is located on the second floor of Merle Hay Mall where the lower level tenant spaces and public access had to be maintained at all times. The roof structure for the renovation area was raised 14 feet to meet height requirements for the movie theatres. All supporting structural steel columns, beams and pad footings were increased to handle the increased loads. Complete new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems were fully integrated into the existing mall facility to support the renovated space.

Once the new structures were in place, Neumann proceeded to complete architectural finishes for the new space. Our crews self-performed numerous demolition tasks, completed all of the concrete work (architectural and structural), and installed all custom reclaimed barn wood wall paneling. Neumann’s constant coordination with kitchen equipment designers, two Owner groups, and two design firms, was a great success in transforming this tenant space to one of the most unique cinema experiences in the Midwest.

The entire project was completed in just under 9 months.
