Work Scope

The project was completed in two phases and began erecting scaffolding on the clock tower and south mansard roofs. The clocktower’s copper skin and the secondary wood structure were removed. A new steel structure was added to the primary structure and sheathed with a waterproof continuous steel plate to create a watertight barrier. A combination of new and repurposed copper was installed to restore the look of the historical clock tower. Asphalt shingles and slate were stripped from the mansard roofs. The roofs were upgraded with new underlayment, manufactured slate shingles, EPDM, and new historically accurate copper flashings and cresting. EPDM and copper gutters were rebuilt with added slope to improve the building’s storm water management.

Throughout the project, our team actively engaged with the Owner, Architect, and contractors to coordinate the schedule and sequence of installation. Dan Larsen was the Project Manager and his upfront communication and planning with the team were paramount to the success of this project.
