Work Scope

In 2014, Neumann completed construction of the Richard A. Clark Municipal Service Center for the City of Des Moines. The building was named in recognition of the city manager, Richard A. Clark, who retired after 41 years with the city. The Municipal Center is part of an overall effort to control costs by reducing the number of city-owned buildings and consolidating staff. The facility serves as headquarters for the Des Moines Parks and Recreation Department and houses operations for the Traffic and Transportation Division and the Engineering Department. The center includes a conference room for large meetings and training events that can hold up to 200 people. Readily available conference space is new to the City of Des Moines and eliminates the need to locate and rent venues. An outdoor courtyard located near the center of the building provides natural light to the many offices and work areas. The project qualified for LEED Silver Certification.
